JOB DESCRIPTION - WAREHOUSE WORKER
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. The store is open Monday through Saturday. Days/hours of work may vary, depending on staffing needs.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bishop’s Attic is a second-hand retail store. We receive donations at the store. The warehouse
personnel sorts and places warehouse items as directed by organizational standards, i.e.,
separating household goods, clothing, furniture, sewing and crafts, sporting goods etc. for
processing prior to merchandising and floor stocking.
One or more warehouse personnel may be needed and used to make pickups and deliveries
using a panel truck (CDL is not required). Applicant may be required to operate panel truck.
The applicant will perform custodial and store maintenance duties as directed by store
managers. The applicant will also perform preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment
and report problems and repair needs to the store managers.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Applicant must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees and
customers.
Applicant should have good hearing and vision.
Applicant should have good organizational and time management skills and be
dependable.
Applicant must be able to communicate with managers regarding customer concerns and
employee matters.
Applicant must be clean and neat when they report to work.
Applicant must have an Alaska Driving license and a safe driving record and be free of DUIs
in the last five years. The Applicant will need to bring in or authorize a driving record
check.
Applicant must be able to operate a 22-foot panel truck to make deliveries and pickup
donation materials from donors.
The Applicant must provide appropriate customer service — They will be expected to
engage with the public, load, and unload donor/customer vehicles, work the donation
receiving door and do so with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
Applicant will perform other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying 50 pounds short distances.
(i.e., Moving donations into the warehouse from motor vehicles and homes and from the
warehouse to the store floor etc.)
Applicant must also be capable of walking up and down stairs frequently.
Applicant must be able to physical bend, twist, kneel, and squat, in a safe and efficient
manner. They are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and kneel. Depending on the
job, they may be expected to climb and balance. The applicant will be on their feet 8 hours
a day.
The Applicant may be required to work outside for brief periods of time.
